  • Expression of Interest are invited for Demand Analysis for Cruise Terminal in the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica The Transaction Advisory Department (CTA) in Public Private Partnerships of the International Finance Corporation (β€œIFC” or the β€œPurchaser”) has been approached by the Instituto Costarricense de Puertos del Pacifico (β€œINCOP” or the β€œClient”) to conduct a demand analysis for the expansion of the Cruise Terminal located in the Puntarenas Province of Costa Rica, or the β€œProject”, to assess the viability of a PPP structure. Currently the Project-s infrastructure encompasses a 533.44-meter-long dock divided into a berthing bridge (with two berths), a transition bridge and a mooring bridge. There are two additional 38.75-meter metal bridges with their respective mooring dolphins, nine fenders and 28 bitts for the berthing and unberthing of vessels. The maximum draft is 10.5 meters. The jetty is equipped with two platforms and three stairways for embarking a disembarking passengers. Existing infrastructure also comprises pedestrian and safety signaling, security and passenger guard booth, two lighting towers at the berthing bridge and eleven mercury poles, electricity plant, train for the transfer of tourists and seven buoys for maritime signaling. In terms of number of passengers, the Terminal received approximately 80 cruise vessels per season before COVID-19. During season 2023-24, It is expected to service 57 ships. The Project envisages the deepening of the port-s draught, the extension of the berthing quay with the construction of new mooring dolphins to be able to serve longer vessels and the rehabilitation of the bridge structure, and the operation of the Terminal.
