Expression of Interest are invited for Strategic Directions for Costa Rica Coastal and Marine Tourism in a Blue Economy. This Expression of Interest (EOI) is for a rapid assessment that would underpin the formulation of options for Costa Rica Coastal and Marine Tourism in a Blue Economy. The scope of work would focus on: The terms of reference focus on: reviewing the impact of increasing numbers of tourists in relation to the benefits accruing to Costa Rica and the costs of implementing requirements that would ensure the country retains its sustainable tourism brand compiling a synthesis of the available studies on tourism in Costa Rica (including on carrying capacity (capacidad de carga)) assessing the effectiveness of instruments currently used for managing impact of tourism within Costa Ricas sustainable tourism agenda and their application in the context of the Blue Economy Estimating the benefits of tourism to Costa Rica (including multiplier effects) and the potential benefits of two contrasting tourism scenarios (to be determined jointly with the client) to inform the approach and measures necessary to achieve the optimal outcome for tourism in the Blue Economy of Costa Rica.
